I am SO, SO grateful for Jo's coaching sessions. Since our first sessions two weeks ago, I actually find myself implementing what she has taught me (which isn't always the case for me) but it has truly made a difference! And she really made things SOO easy! Which is amazing as well.

Last year our 13-year-old daughter was really struggling with worries and anxieties at school. It got to the point where she would be in tears in the morning and on a couple of occasions refused to go in. I contacted The Student Mindset Academy, as I knew Jo, to see if there was anything she could do to help.
We signed up for a 6 session course and as each session went by there was a noticeable change in our daughter's moods. She started to return to our happy girl again. After the sessions had finished, Jo still kept checking in with us both and has been an amazing support for us.
Not sure how she did it (sessions were private) but we now have our happy teenager back (or as happy as teenagers ever are :) and she doesn't let things get her down like they used to. Thanks Jo.

Joanne tutored my 15-year-old son Oliver, who was born in France and had gone through French schooling and consequently lacked both language and technical skills, which left him feeling totally demotivated and disinterested. Not only did Jo help with his English skills but she also gave him the confidence to push himself and feel proud of his achievements. This had a knock-on effect on other subjects too including History, as all of a sudden, Oliver was able to compose paragraphs and express himself properly. I would highly recommend Jo and we will miss her very much!

My two boys have been taught by Jo for the last year. Both of my sons needed different things from her as a tutor.
My older son, who's 11, needed support and encouragement to develop both academic skills but more importantly, his confidence which had disappeared over lockdown. He is now more confident in the classroom and his teachers are impressed with his new desire to engage in classroom activities. As a result of these changes, he's looking forward to moving to secondary school in September, with the continued support Jo brings.
My younger son who is 9 has more complex needs. He dislikes being in school as he finds the confinement of a classroom very restricted. Although he likes the structure of a school day, he learns by experience and Jo has adapted lessons to suit this, often taking classes outside where he enjoys being most.
His basic skills were a bit patchy and Jo has filled the gaps that lockdown has brought. He is still a reluctant learner but has improved so much since having regular lessons with Jo, who has taught him to manage his frustrations.
I am so grateful to all of Jo's help. I'm not very academic and would not be able to support my children in the way she does.
